For those arriving on a day-trip from Spain through the land frontier:
Park your vehicle at the Santa Barbara Car Park adjacent to the border on the Spanish side (this will save you the long traffic queue to the border crossing at peak times). Once parked, from here it is only 3 minutes’ walk to Passport Control to enter Gibraltar (make sure you have your passports with you!).
Once you have entered Gibraltar, continue on foot for another 1 minute (50 meters) and you will see the bus stop for Bus #5 and Bus #10 (double-decker). These buses are INCLUDED in your Gibraltar Pass. Take them either to the City Centre (Market Place stop) or to the Cable Car station (Boyd St. stop). Before boarding the bus, you may want to pop-into the adjacent Eroski Supermarket and pick up your FREE bottle of water.
If you are already in Gibraltar, you can use your Gibraltar Pass to take Bus #10 to the Cable Car from Market Place or from a stop closer to your location.
We recommend you go to the Cable Car first. Get your Gibraltar Pass scanned at the fast-track, prepaid tickets line at the Cable Car station, and make sure you are given the Nature Reserve entrance tickets too! From here your adventure to the top of the Rock begins and you can explore the many attractions of the Upper Rock, including the exciting SkyWalk, St, Michael’s Cave, and off-course encounter the famous apes and see the amazing views onto Africa.
After exploring the Upper Rock, it is time to go down to the city centre. Take the Cable-Car down and from the base station, it is only 1 minute walk to the beautiful Alameda Botanical Gardens (Free entry) or it is only a 5 minutes’ walk to the southern entrance to Main Street- Gibraltar’s prime shopping pedestrianised street. Enjoy strolling along Main Street and its adjacent shopping streets making use of the ample discounts, freebies and other benefits offered by the Gibraltar Pass participating shops and restaurants.
If you have time, click HERE for our list of participating attractions for more fun activities to do, including Dolphin boat trips, e-Bikes, Escape Room and much more. Otherwise, continue through the lively Casemates Square to Market Place, from where your Gibraltar Pass can be used again to board Bus #5 or #10 back to the border with Spain, or pop into nearby Ocean Village to enjoy relaxed water-front restaurants, shopping and casino till late night.
